Memorial Service - Bill Barker (G/SH 78-83)
As part of St. Beghians' Day on Saturday 15th September 2012,
a service was held in the school chapel,
which commemorated the life of P.C. Bill Barker (G/SH 78-83),
whose tragic death occurred in the Cumbria floods in 2009.
A plaque was unveiled and a tree planted in his memory.
The service was conducted initially by the school chaplain, Clifford Schwarz,
and then by the vicar of Egremont, the Rev Richard Lee.
Please click here to read a copy of the address given by Hazel Barker at the memorial service. |

THE VIRTUAL CAREERS
FORUM
Once you have read this,
we could do with a small favour please.
More than ever our society needs just a few details from each
of us. Occasionally there are situations when we know our own
experience can benefit others. In one of these instances, with
your permission, we may need to contact you.
In the present economy, there are St Beghians’ that will
need a leg up on the career ladder or are contemplating a change
with their employment path. Useful advice is sometimes hard to
come by when we most need it and for those in an employment quandary,
this is why we are launching
The Virtual Careers Forum (ref: The OSB Bulletin, January 2010
Issue).
When required, all voluntary assistance will be appreciated. If
you haven't already notified us about your willingness to participate,
please complete the form below. It’s quite short and together
with the other forms already submitted will make all the difference
to maximising our resource.

Many thanks,
Don H Williams MCIM, President St Beghian
Society
